Mission and Values.
The Seb Goold Trust was established in 2014 in response to the support shown by the community, friends at school and from local and national sporting clubs, who all expressed a desire to help Seb maintain his athletic potential. The Trust's motto is Work Hard, Aim High, which very much reflects the personality of this special little boy. The immediate and medium term aims of the Trust are related to fundraising to purchase the physical equipment that can support Seb’s rehabilitation now, in order to support his sporting aspirations.**
The longer term mission of the Seb Goold Trust includes a strong desire of Seb and the Trustees to support key charities that have been, and will be, vital not only for Seb’s recovery, but also other children who find themselves with such complex injuries and needs. With support, Seb – through the Trust – has the potential to offer inspiration, advice and ideas to children and young adults who may suffer life-changing injuries but who, through the power of sport, can rebuild their lives and continue to achieve their full potential. These strong values of working hard, aiming high, courage in recovery, and the importance of sport are at the heart of the Trust’s long-term mission and they go beyond the immediate fundraising aims, in the hope of building a platform from which support can be offered to other young people in the future.
** The funds in the Trust are limited to rehabilitation support and associated equipment and will not be used for professional or other fees related to any ongoing claims.
